JOHN HELDT is an inventor, teacher, author and consultant. He has worked on refrigerators, submarines, space systems, telephone equipment and computers for companies such as, Ampex, General Dynamics, Memorex, Watkins-Johnson, GTE and Lockheed. John is also a medalist, US Army: WWII & Korea. American Society for Quality Control: E. L. Grant Award (Medal). He is also a multi-discipline engineer, Registered: Electrical; Mechanical; and Quality, California.
Dr. Heldt is an international lecturer: Top Management Institute, WUXI, and University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, abroad; De Anza college, San Jose State, College of San Mateo, and more, in the USA. He is also a Mentor for Columbia Pacific University, San Rafael, CA, and a Fellow Licentiate of the Engineering Institute, Meath, Eire.
John has written books on Probability, Cost of Quality and Reliability for Hitchcock publishing, MGI Management Institute, and others. He has authored more than 50 Quality related articles, mostly for QUALITY Magazine. (Han Liang, John's interpreter at WUXI, used John's self study course as his reference to establish the Quality Cost Standard for the People's Republic.
Dr. Heldt has been, or is now, a member (or Chairman) of several ASQ committees, college advisory boards and magazine editorial panels.

Marguerite (Mrs. Heldt) has always supported John's work and accompanied him whenever possible: They were in China Twice: once on a good will tour for The American Society for Quality. and Again to teach in Wuxi.
John taught an accelerated course in Statistical Quality Control at the University of Stellenbosch. After which, she joined John in South Africa and they enjoyed three weeks tooling around that great country on their own.
Other places they have been, Including Chili, Argentina, Peru (With a side trip to Machu Piccu) Brazil (including Four Day's on the Amazon in a dinky boat that looked much like the boat in the African Queen). Last, they spent time in Columbia before emplaning at Bogota, for the USA.
